Job Description

Description:

CareLink is a non-profit, mission-based 501c3 organization that was founded in 1997 by non-profit post-acute and community-based organizations specializing in the care of older adults and adults with disabilities. These organizations include long-term care, housing, hospice, home care, assisted living and adult-day health. In addition, CareLink is a direct provider of a range of health and wellness services including rehabilitation (PT/OT/SLP), mobile dental, audiology, podiatry, psychiatry, brain health and wellness services. We keep individuals doing the things that they want to do, independently, in the place they call home.

This full-time, float position (30-40 hours per week) will provide care at our Northern RI Region's inpatient and outpatient facilities on an off-set schedule (a schedule designed to cover one or both weekend days). Occasional coverage outside of this area and schedule may be requested. Weekend differential provided.

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports patient well-being, rehabilitation, and recovery by providing direct support to a plan of care prescribed by an Occupational Therapist. The COTA provides unique therapeutic services to enhance the goals and objectives of eligible patients (within the parameters of training and expertise) designed and established by the Occupational Therapist. This individual helps patients with physical, mental, emotional, or social limitations to improve their quality of life and independence.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of RI.
  • Interest in working with all abilities including the intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) population
  • Must possess a valid and current driver license and auto insurance.
  • Willing to obtain or possesses current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
