Job Description

Overview: We are currently hiring for an Entry Level Structural Engineer. This could also be an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer or Civil Engineer who has an interest in this work. Description: The Structural Engineer position provides technical oversight for various structural and mechanical systems on piers. The Structural Engineer will be required to develop a cohesive working relationship with system operators and maintenance personnel. + Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within assigned system(s). + Provide technical direction to maintenance and project teams to support routine and non-routine work. + Provide engineering resolutions for system problems/configuration changes. + Produce and/or oversee the development of technical documentation that govern the system design, configuration, and operation. + Develop a long range strategic plan for improvements to assigned utility system(s). + Participate in the development of planned maintenance requirements. + Support resolution of unplanned events. + Develop and maintain critical system metrics. + Participate in project design and implementation process for system related projects. + Oversee project/system testing to ensure system meets technical requirements and operates at peak performance. + Participate in the development and implementation of a pier maintenance and inspection certification program with key stakeholders Qualifications: + US Citizenship. + BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. + Willingness to learn. + Team player. Additional Information: + Long term, multi year contract. + Pay Rate: $35-$38/hr. + Benefits. + 1st shift, Monday-Friday. + 1 step interview process. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
