Full Time Custodian & Food Service Float
DESCRIPTION:
Polaris Tech is seeking a full time Custodian/Food Handler to serve as a float within the campus. This position we handle day to day food service, cleaning, and light maintenance duties to ensure the health and safety of students and staff.
This position reports to the Director of Finance and Operations.
Essential Job Functions:
● Provide support to meal service ie breakfast and lunch.
● Follow all health and safety regulations.
● Sweep, mop floors and vacuum carpets
● Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables.
● Clean mirrors, window and stainless-steel areas
● Ensure all equipment used is cleaned and put away after use.
● Additional duties may be required for special events.
● Notify Management of occurring deficiencies and/or needs for repairs.
● Report major damages to appropriate admin staff to ensure repair is completed in a timely manner.
● All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
● Proven experience as food handler, custodian, janitor or in a similar role
● Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
● Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
● Integrity and ability to work independently.
● High school degree and must pass a background check
● Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
● Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
● Familiarity with basic landscaping and handyman practices
● Diagnostic skills
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
SKILLS: Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; operating small equipment; diagnostic.
KNOWLEDGE: Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: fundamentals of cleaning, painting, electrical, landscaping and plumbing work.
ABILITIES: Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Adapting to changing work priorities; displaying mechanical aptitude; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities and working as part of a team as well as individually; lift, carry, push, pull or guide up to 50 pounds individually or more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Requirements
Food Handler or SERV safe licensing will need to be obtained if candidate does not already have these certifications.
