Job Description

The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products. This position will require up to 50% travel; fleet vehicle provided. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams; understanding components and operation of an electrical distribution system; excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision; experienced in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology; knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, and heating products; Spark Ignited knowledge. There are different levels of the role from Trainee to Master Field Service Technician with varying qualifications and experience requirements. Physical demands include regular talking, hearing, use of hands, standing, walking, occasional stooping, bending, reaching above shoulders, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The job involves frequent computer-based work requiring sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel is required.
