Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. SCOPE

The Production Planni n g Lead is responsible for the day-to-day activities required to en s ure on time delivery to customer commitments, and operations & inventory optimization . The planning lead will monitor and maintain planning activities , mater i a l flow , and contro l of materials for produc ti on programs in their area(s) , which will include the direct oversight of a ll planners . The Production Planning Lead will be the main point of contact for the Business Unit Leader.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the day-to - day planning operations, including maintaining schedu l es , monitoring reports ; mitigate issues to ensure production lines are achieving 100% o n time de li very .
  • Demonstrates owne r ship and accou nt abi li ty ; thrives in change and uncertainty; id e ntify busine s s sys t em o r processes gap and pursue conti nu ous improvement.
  • Review bil l of mate ri a l for struc tu re, accuracy , and planning parameters to ensu r e they are set up appropriate l y to ach i eve effec ti veness of p l anning .
  • Ensure on-time releases of a ll Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Produc t ion Orders , monitors th e planning ac ti vities and material fl ow th rough a ll prod u ction lin e and partne r with o perations, supply chain and production contro l to mitigate any schedule attainment issues .
  • Work di r ectly with Business Unit Leader to ensure proper alignment and flow down information to production planning team.
  • Work with Production Control and Operations to establish and maintain a Plan for Every Part.
  • Analyze a n d take actions on e x cess and shortage of the materials .
  • Ensures we are procuring and production against the proper sa l es orders to meet production commitmen t s .
  • Assess and provide tr aining and assist in understanding MRP driven r equirements .

 

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations or related area.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in material/production planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability or at least 2 years of experience leading teams in an industrial setting.
  • Strong business acumen, forward thinking and optimistic problem solving skills
  • Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, good decision making skills, and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed analysis and present summary root causes, and improvement plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of MRP system, supplier lead time, production cycle time and routings; ability to supervise, train and mentor planners and peers.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kanban systems, 5S, and other problem solving techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Is resourceful and versatile in responding to changing demands and opportunities.
  • Previous experience and knowledge in Material Planning required.
  • Self-motivated to excel and achieve best possible results.
  • Must be able to speak/read/write English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

 

SALARY RANGE: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 (Based on skill, experience, and education)
