Salary:

We're seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist/Purchasing Agent to manage the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in procurement principles, contract management, supplier relationships and purchasing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement and Sourcing

1. Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve business objectives.
2. Conduct market research and analyze data to identify qualified suppliers.
3. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers.
4. Manage the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, evaluation and award.
5. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Supplier Management

1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
3. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards.

Collaboration

1. Work with engineering to assist with key component procurement, fabrication timing and equipment shipment schedules.
2. Collaborate with Engineering, Sales and project management to maximize profits, recommend alternatives and balance cash flow.
3. Reports to the Purchasing Manager.

Cost Management

1. Secure best pricing and delivery for design-build related equipment.
2. Seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Compliance

1. Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases.
2. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
3. Oversee insurance/safety requirements for subcontractors.

Purchasing and Order Management

1. Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery.
2. Monitor order status and expedite orders when necessary.
3. Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, damaged goods or incorrect orders.
4. Manage procurement documentation and records accurately.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Materials Management, Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum 3-5 years of procurement experience.
3. Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices.
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
6. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. High competency level in MS Office applications.
