Summary

Location: Tennessee, Alabama, Louisana and/or Florida (Gulf Coast area).  

Travel: Up to 75% travel in the region.

 

The  Regional Account Manager -   Multi-Family  reports to the local Sales Leader and has ownership of all Multi-Family sales volume and product mix results within their region(s). Primary responsibilities will include identifying new project opportunities and targeting the appropriate developer, general contractor, architect, repair & remodel companies and installers. This role maintains key customer relationships in their region and serves as the primary contact for the key MF customer as well as the segment expert for their region. The position is unique in that it requires longer term customer partnership, consultation, and business development to be successful. Target customers include but are not limited to regional to small multi-family builders, small and mid-size contractors as well as the local support of national accounts in their local markets. This role is a key sales position with the opportunity to deliver step change sales growth for the multi-family building segment for James Hardie.  

 

What You’ll Do:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will be primary coverage of the key accounts in region participating in the segment and support for the district as the segment matter expert.
  • Identify new project opportunities and target appropriate parties for conversion to James Hardie Building Products.
  • Acquire key influential identified customers in targeted geographies and support them through the MF process.
  • Support customers as they utilize James Hardie by eliminating barriers to conversion & creating a positive customer experience through the transition.
  • Provide technical and operational support to customers.
  • Passion to identify targets, cultivate relationships, grow networks and nurture leads in alignment the Multi-Family market strategy.
  • Build momentum in the market by leveraging key conversions with other builders or developers to amplify the trend in the market.
  • Identify influential builders & developers that will drive trends in future home development(s) through sustainable relationships.
  • Manages and holds themselves accountable to a priority based schedule with prospective customers. 
  • Partner successfully across the sales organization to be able to transition stable accounts to focused account managers.
  • Develop a solid understanding of company products, customer programs and benefits, and our market development sales approach to effectively engage with prospective customers.
  • Capable of analyzing data and using market exposure to understand and communicate market dynamics and drive decision making.
  • Ability to host, lead and present in front of large audiences.
  • Passion for their company and personal success to meet or exceed goals.

What You’ll Bring:

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of outside sales experience in a high-touch sales environment
  • Strong tech knowledge and in-depth understanding of MF project management and JH Multi-Family process.
  • Jobsite familiarity and comfort
  • General knowledge of construction, pneumatic tools, PPE & associated products
  • Prior track record of success in a business development role.
  • Strong sales mentality to drive results, and understanding of sales process.
  • Ability to convey construction expertise and technical knowledge at job sites.
  • High level of organization, discipline, and self-structure. 
  • Ability to work with and understand complex value chains and distribution models.
  • Basic understanding of fundamental financial concepts.
  • Accessibility and responsiveness are vital
  • Time management and prioritization to optimize efficiency & effectiveness
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program (preferred).
