Avon Hospital's Radiology Unit offers state-of-the-art diagnostic radiology services to provide fast, accurate and less invasive diagnosis of a medical problem. As an RN, you will provide routine patient care to those coming to the unit for imaging services and related appointments. In this position, a supportive and welcoming attitude can leave a lasting impression on everyone who encounter.

A caregiver in this position works weekends from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
• Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications. 
• Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
• Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
• Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
• Educate patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles in the department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• One year of recent experience as an RN

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Two years of recent experience as an RN

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
• Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids
• Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
