Position: Video Coding Coop Number of Position(s): 1 Duration: 4 months Date: May 2025 - August 2025 Location: Onsite - San Diego, Educational Requirements: Currently pursuing or finalizing a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Image/Video Signal Processing or a related field from an accredited university in the U.S. Conduct hands-on experimentation with both traditional and data-driven video coding methods, including feature implementation, simulation, and visual testing. Support the technical and perceptual evaluation of video coding solutions based on literature review and research findings. Contribute to the development of novel video compression techniques, as applicable. Document findings and present results to the research team. Hands-on programming experience in C or C++. Strong collaboration and communication skills (English required). It would be nice if you also had: Familiarity with current video coding standards (e.g., AVC, HEVC, VVC). Programming experience in Python, especially with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
