Posting Details Position Information Job Title Web Designer, TATP Department History Essential Functions Design the overall visual aesthetics and usability of the TATP website, including photos, color, font type and size, graphics, information flow, and layout. Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development team. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, meet with stakeholders to discuss requirements, demonstrating user-centered designs and receiving feedback on draft sites. Create wireframes, mockups, user flows, process flows, and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas. Utilize a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design). Conduct user studies and usability tests, working to improve designs. Understand web-based technologies and programming (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and may create living mock-ups of websites. Entry-level professional within field . Requires basic skill set and proficiency. Conducts work assignments as directed. Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment. Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field and/or 0-3 years of relevant experience . The Web Designer is creative, professional, self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to solve problems with solution-focused thinking. Possesses strong oral and written communication, technical, and design skills . Familiarity with digital humanities, public humanities, community engagement, and pedagogy is a plus as is expertise in advertising/marketing . Core responsibilities include: Establishing a website for the TATP within the UNO website (in coordination with the UNO Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications) Performing regular updates to the website to reflect ongoing progress and development Ensuring maximal usability, accessibility, and appeal of the website to audiences within both UNO and the broader community Working closely with UNO Criss Library archivists to embed a digital archive of projects produced as part of the TATP into the website and updating this archive with new projects as they are developed The Web Designer is capable of successfully managing multiple priorities, projects, processes, timelines, and is comfortable making decisions to lead initiatives. Responds thoughtfully and strategically to faculty needs, ensuring that the project website promotes the TATP while serving as a dynamic archive of collaborative work produced by students and community members. This position reports to the PI of the TATP and will meet with faculty, students, and community members as needed.
