What You Will Be Doing
• Connecting with K-8 students as a mentor, building trust and inspiring a limitless mindset
• Using AI and adaptive learning tools to personalize education paths—students progress at their own pace, you guide discovery
• Designing and leading life-skills workshops (public speaking, goal-setting, collaboration) that prepare students for lifelong success
• Fostering a culture of curiosity, ambition, and growth—help students identify their strengths and interests

What You Won’t Be Doing
• Following rigid curricula or delivering standardized lessons to passive students
• Spending hours grading papers or administering traditional tests
• Managing classroom discipline problems that arise from disengagement
• Working within the constraints of an outdated educational bureaucracy

Youth Mentor Key Responsibilities
Transform young lives by creating personalized learning journeys that ignite passion, build confidence, and develop future-ready skills in every student you mentor.
Basic Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in any subject
• Strong public speaking skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and energize audiences
• A desire to connect, inspire, and motivate K-8th grade students
• 3 years' experience coaching or mentoring children
• Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship
• Willingness to work in-person at our Phoenix or Nassau campus
• Able to attend a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus

Nice-to-have Requirements
• Experience with project-based learning or alternative education models
• Familiarity with educational technology and adaptive learning platforms
• Background in psychology, child development, or education
• Skills in a specialized area that could enrich student experiences (arts, sciences, languages, etc.)

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
